  • The "overpopulation" of koalas in 2000 was the result of habitat destruction. At the time there were 6200 koalas in an area 155 miles long. Now there are about 2800. 3,000 animals, or even 6,000, only amounts to 20-40 animals per square mile if they all live within a mile of the coast.

  • Korea was not a declared war either, it was a "police action". Technically it is an ongoing police action that has yet to be ended by treaty, but that's beside the point.

  • Well, when they had the big quake in the Pacific the other day, a poster from California wondered if it might trigger quakes on this side of the ocean as well. I told him there wasn't much chance of that. Ok, maybe I was wrong. Who knew?

  • Letterman is directly and personally responsible for bringing millions of advertising dollars to CBS. While he probably did violate the sexual harassment policy, this is trumped by the company's "do not kill the goose that lays the golden eggs" policy.
